On September 10th, 2020, the Highlandtown Community Association held a Zoom meeting regarding the recent, repeated electrical outages that have been occurring in the east side of Highlandtown. In attendance were members of the HCA, concerned neighbors, several representatives from BGE, members of the media, and government representatives, including Luke Clippinger, Bill Ferguson, Zeke Cohen, and Chairman Jason Stanek of the Maryland Public Service Commission. A recording of the meeting is available: meeting video.

Many topics were addressed and it is worth your time to view the entire one and a half hour meeting. If you attended the meeting with BGE on 9/10 and wondered who the Chairman was, he is Chairman Jason M. Stanek from the Maryland Public Service Commission. The mission of the Maryland Public Service Commission is to ensure safe, reliable, and economic public utility and transportation service to the citizens of Maryland. You can find more information here-https://www.psc.state.md.us/

The HCA is collecting your responses and experiences during the outages. Please report them by Monday, September 4th at this site: bit.ly/HCAOutages.

Concerning losses, BGE provides a Claims form at https://www.bge.com/SiteCollectionDocuments/Claims-Form.pdf#search=claims.
Note
that at the meeting BGE claimed that they have determined that there was no “willful negligence” and therefore they do not expect to compensate claimants for these outages.
