A Monster Community Yard Sale
Blockenstein: A Monster Community Yardsale will rise for the asphalt of Bank Street in Highlandtown for the eighth year in a row on May 30th, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
If you'd like to register for a table space, please send your name, address and phone number to email@example.com or call Susan Allenback at (410)534-0966. If you just want to shop for great bargains, mark your calendar and plan to be at Blockenstein 8 on Saturday, May 30st!
Blockenstein was originally conceived in 2007 by Highlandtown resident Susan Allenback in an effort to bring neighbors together to get to know one another with an eye toward creating a safer community as well as providing the opportunity for local residents to sell the extra items that have been accumulating in closets and basements for too long. Since 2009, the Highlandtown Community Association has been the primary sponsor for this total community event where any resident with a Highlandtown address is invited to set up a table with yard sale items absolutely free of charge.
Blockenstein is located on the 3100 and 3200 blocks of Bank Street between S. East Ave. and Ellwood Ave. and boasts of sellers who have come back every year because the experience is so much fun and profitable. The 2013 event had over 70 registrants. Local businesses, churches and other neighborhood and arts organizations are also welcome to set up tables and do community outreach. Committee members and volunteers include Susan Allenback, Agnes Arnold, Heather Hairston, Christine and Emily Jenkins and John Thien.
