Weather Emergency Tips:
Stock enough non-perishable food and water bottles for a week
Keep cell phones charged before and during a storm
Bring pets inside
Make sure you have enough pet food to last a week
Check on elderly neighbors as often as possible
Gather important documents (such as deeds, car insurance info, car titles, birth certificates, passports, etc) in one place in case you have to evacuate quickly.
Communicate via text message if possible, since phone lines will be overloaded
Make sure cars are filled with gas and in working order
Bring loose or light backyard items into the house. If items are heavy or can’t be brought in, anchor them down.
If dealing with standing water, do NOT walk or drive through. “Turn around, don’t drown!”
If asked to evacuate, PLEASE EVACUATE.
